There’s something so familiar feeling here, I could feel it from the moment I stepped out of the airport… this country runs deep in my blood.
I had the privilege of spending the past two weeks volunteering with an organization that is near and dear to my heart.
Two and half weeks in Bali… where to start! I was blessed with some incredible experiences on this island, and can’t wait for the opportunity to come back, I have a feeling it wont be too long from now Here are a few snapshots of adventures!
The main flavors in Balinese dishes are shallots, garlic, chili, coconut, palm sugar, lemongrass, ginger and turmeric. In a day when we took a cooking class from a local family, we made coconut oil, coconut milk, coconut crème and roasted coconut – needless to say, I was in heaven and my love for coconut only grew. Now sitting on a plane leaving the country feels so bittersweet – another example of the constant emotional roller coaster that travel is. I spent the past couple days solo…
That’s it. I love Australian wine. Hunter Valley hosts over 150 estate wineries… a weekend was the perfect amount of time for a taste of the region, but I already want to go back.

I managed to last 2 days in town without jumping off a bridge, jumping out of an airplane or doing the shot over jet around the lake – not out of lack of desire, but when you’re traveling on a budget you really have to weigh out your pricey activities. After the disappointment of being grounded on my first attempt to skydive due to the cyclone in Harvey Bay the morning of…
